چکیده

We study the transport through two impurities or “barriers” in a onedimensional quantum wire, taking into account the long-range 1r Coulomb interactions. We compute the temperature-dependent conductance G(T ) of this system both for weak and strong barriers. Long-range forces lead to a dramatic increase of weak barrier potentials with decreasing temperature, even in the “resonant” case. The system thus always reaches a “strong barrier” regime in which G(T ) vanishes faster than any power as T goes to zero. In particular, resonant tunneling is suppressed at zero temperature. The Analysis of Coulomb Blockade in Fullerene Single Electron Transistor at Room Temperature

The Graphene based single electron transistor (SET) as a coulomb blockade device need to be explored .It is a unique device for high-speed operation in a nano scale regime. A single electron transfers via the coulomb barriers, but its movement may be prevented by coulomb blockade, so its effect is investigated in this research. The conditions of coulomb blockade and its controlling factors such...

Localization in an inhomogeneous quantum wire

We study interaction-induced localization of electrons in an inhomogeneous quasi-one-dimensional system—a wire with two regions, one at low density and the other high. Quantum Monte Carlo techniques are used to treat the strong Coulomb interactions in the low-density region, where localization of electrons occurs. The nature of the transition from high to low density depends on the density grad...

Transport properties of a quantum wire in the presence of impurities and long-range Coulomb forces.

One-dimensional electron systems interacting with long-range Coulomb forces (quantum wires) show a Wigner crystal structure. We investigate in this paper the transport properties of such a Wigner crystal in the presence of impurities. Contrary to what happens when only short-range interactions are included, the system is dominated by 4k F scattering on the impurities. There are two important le...

Positive and negative Coulomb drag in vertically integrated one-dimensional quantum wires.

Electron interactions in and between wires become increasingly complex and important as circuits are scaled to nanometre sizes, or use reduced-dimensional conductors such as carbon nanotubes, nanowires and gated high-mobility two-dimensional electron systems. This is because the screening of the long-range Coulomb potential of individual carriers is weakened in these systems, which can lead to ...

From Coulomb blockade to the Kondo regime in a Rashba dot

We investigate the electronic transport in a quantum wire with localized Rashba interaction. The Rashba field forms quasibound states that couple to the continuum states with an opposite spin direction. The presence of this Rashba dot causes Fano-like antiresonances and dips in the wire’s linear conductance. The Fano line shape arises from the interference between the direct transmission channe...
